Tissue augmentation and replacement of a heel fat pad with a decellularized sterile human dermal matrix.

چکیده
The use of xenografts and allografts has been primarily direct- ed at chronic wounds and tendon repair. Currently, there are no known devices in this category that can successfully be used to augment tis- sue. Patients who have undergone trauma and subsequent surgery, par- ticularly in weight-bearing areas, may experience pain with pressure or ambulation at the site. This report illustrates the use of an allograft for tissue augmentation in a young individual who was involved in a motor vehicle accident resulting in loss of the plantar fat pad. An allograft was successfully used for tissue replacement, thereby reducing pain and facilitating weight-bearing ambulation. .

Pedicled buccal fat pad for the augmentation of facial depression deformity
RATIONALE Tissue augmentation of facial depression deformities can be achieved by volume replacement with autologous fat injection, dermal filler injection, etc. Here, we report a case of tissue augmentation of a facial depression deformity using a pedicled buccal fat pad (BFP). PATIENT CONCERNS A 64-year-old woman was referred with a chief complaint of facial depression deformity. DIAGNOSE...

Background. Decellularized human skin has been used in a variety of medical applications, primarily involving soft tissue reconstruction, wound healing, and tendon augmentation. Theoretically, decellularization removes potentially immunogenic material and provides a clean scaffold for cellular and vascular in growth. The use of acellular dermal matrix in two-stage postmastectomy breast reconstr...

Introduction Perforation of maxillary sinus mucous membrane is of the most prevalent complication during open sinus lift surgery. Moreover, such complication can usually be managed by an absorbable membrane. As far as absorbable membranes are concerned, decellularized maxillary sinus mucous membranes, which is an extracellular matrix, can be used as a biologic scaffold and insulating membrane ...
متن کاملBiomechanical analysis of rotator cuff repairs with extracellular matrix graft augmentation.
Despite advances in surgical techniques, 20% to 90% of rotator cuff (RTC) repairs fail. They tend to fail at the suture-tendon junction due to tension at the repair and gap formation prior to healing. This study evaluated the gap formation and ultimate tensile failure loads of a RTC repair with a decellularized human dermal allograft. Augmentation of a RTC repair with an extracellular matrix gr...
متن کاملThe heel fat pad: mechanical properties and clinical applications
The human heel pad is a highly specialised fibroadipose tissue that is hierarchically structured to dissipate the stress associated with weight–bearing activities. While the properties of the heel pad, as a whole, are believed to reflect those of the collagen– and elastin–rich septa which envelope adipocytes and confine their movement, the scientific literature provides little consensus on the ...
